Gulshan is established, central and close to embassies, clubs and restaurants. Bashundhara is planned, newer and built around universities and wide roads.

What to weigh

• Commute: test the journey at the time you would actually travel.
• Schools: visit, rather than relying on distance alone.
• Space: for the same budget, newer areas usually offer more floor area.
